Ramona and Beezus

Ramona and Beezus
source by : Google

Starring : Joey King, Selena Gomez, Ginnifer Goodwin, John Corbett, Bridget Moynahan, Josh Duhamel, Sandra Oh .

Plot :
Beatrice "Beezus" Quimby is a girl who deals with her pesky sister Ramona Quimby. She is given the nickname Beezus by Ramona because the latter could not say Beatrice when she first learned to talk. Beezus is frequently annoyed or embarrassed by Ramona's behavior throughout the story. In one case, Ramona writes in a library book that Beezus then has to purchase. In another, Ramona ruins Beezus' checker game with Henry Huggins's and locks Ribsy, Henry's dog, in the bathroom. Henry leaves and Beezus becomes angry. She also invites 4 friends over without her mother's permission. Later in the story, she ruins Beezus' birthday cake.

Beezus often feels guilty because she knows she is supposed to love Ramona, but has a hard time with that. While she tries to read to her and care for her, she often gets mad about the things Ramona does. Beezus ask her mom if she was like Ramona. Their mother tells her that she was different, for example quieter. This pleases Beezus, who sometimes dislikes Ramona (as Ramona is very noisy). Then Mrs. Quimby explained how she and Beatrice their aunt was very different. Beezus begins to think about her mom and aunt and how much they love each other and realizes that Ramona is not such a bad sister after all.

This story was adapted from a novel Beezus and Ramona, about how Young third grader Ramona (Joey King) has a vivid imagination, boundless energy, and accident-prone antics that keeps everyone she meets on their toes. But her irrepressible sense of fun, adventure and mischief come in handy when she puts her mind to helping save her family's home before it's way too late.

While in Abu Dhabi, Carrie runs into her former lover, Aidan (John Corbett), and agrees to a dinner date. In a moment of passion, the two kiss. Carrie deals with the question of whether or not to tell Big. Samantha tells her to sleep on it while Miranda reflects on the events of the previous film, when her husband, Steve (David Eigenberg), told her about his affair and how, while it helped clear his conscience, was something that she was not so sure she wanted to know in retrospect given the months it took her to recover. Death at a Funeral (2010)

Death at a Funeral (2010)
(do you remember Death at a Funeral in 2007?)
  • Death at a Funeral is a 2010 American comedy film directed by Neil LaBute and starring an ensemble cast
About Plot :
  • The film revolves around the funeral ceremony for the father of Aaron (Chris Rock) and Ryan (Martin Lawrence). Aaron, the older son, lives with his wife Michelle at his parent's home. Aaron and Michelle have been trying to buy their own home and have children but have been unsuccessful. Aaron envies Ryan because Ryan is a successful writer, which Aaron wants to be but has yet to have his novel published. Aaron is resentful towards Ryan because Ryan would rather spend money on a first class ticket from New York to L.A. than help him pay for the funeral expenses.

Elaine and her fiancee Oscar are on their way to pick up her brother Jeff before heading to the funeral. To ease Oscar's nerves, she gives him what she believes is Valium. Jeff later reveals to Elaine that it's not actually Valium, but a hallucinagenic drug he's concocted for his friend. Chaos ensues when Oscar hallucinates that the coffin is moving and he knocks it over which pushes the body out the coffin which freaks out the guest.

Aaron is approached by an unknown guest who happens to be a midget named Frank, who reveals himself to be the secret gay lover of his deceased father. Frank shows Aaron photos as proof and threatens to reveal them to Aaron's mother unless he is paid $30,000. Aaron tells Ryan who suggest Aaron pay the money because Ryan claims he's buried in debt. While Aaron and Ryan meet with him to pay him, Frank starts to trash talk Aaron's ability as writer and Aaron refuses to pay Frank. Frank gets angry and tries to leave the room; Ryan attacks Frank and both Aaron and Ryan tie Frank up to prevent him from leaving. Norman came in and saw what happened. He gave Frank what they also believe is Valium to try and calm him down and Jeff tells them it's not Valium.

While Jeff and Norman, who are suppose to be watching Frank, get distracted by Uncle Russell, Frank jumps off the coffee table and hits his head. With Aaron, Ryan, Jeff, and Norman believing Frank is dead, they plan to put him in the coffin. While everyone is outside in shock from Oscar on the roof naked threatening to jump because he saw Elaine unwillingly kissing Derek, Aaron and Ryan put Frank in the coffin.

Elaine calms Oscar down by revealing she is pregnant with their child and Derek forced himself on her. With everyone back inside, they continue the eulogy. While Aaron awkwardly tries to do his speech, Frank starts banging on the coffin and suddenly emerges from it. The pictures fall out his pocket and Cynthia sees the pictures and starts to attack Frank. Aaron yells for everyone's attention as he tells them that his father was a good man with flaws like everyone else.

The film ends with Aaron and Ryan saying goodbye while Ryan gets a ride to the airport by little Martina, who Ryan has been trying to get with all day. Aaron and Michelle are finally alone and going to try and have a baby. Aaron asks where Uncle Russell is and Michelle tells him that she gave him what she believes is Valium to get him calm. Death at a Funeral

Death at a Funeral (2007)

Death at a Funeral is a 2007 British black comedy film directed by Frank Oz.

About the Plot :
  • The story is set in England and takes place mainly at a family home where Daniel and his wife Jane live with his parents. When the story opens, it is the day of Daniel's father's funeral and, while in the process of organising this event, Daniel and Jane plan to purchase a flat and move away from the parental home. Daniel's brother Robert, a renowned novelist living in New York City, would rather spend his money on a First Class airline ticket to England than help finance the funeral, leaving Daniel to cover the burial expenses. As guests begin to arrive at the family home, where the funeral service is to be held, he struggles to complete a eulogy, although everyone expects Robert the writer will be the one to deliver some appropriate remarks.

Daniel's cousin Martha and her fiancé Simon are desperate to make a good impression on Martha's uptight father Victor. Their hopes for doing so are dashed when Martha, hoping to calm Simon's nerves, gives him what she believes is Valium but actually is a designer hallucinogenic drug manufactured by her brother Troy, a pharmacy student. While on the way to the funeral, Simon begins to feel its effect.

A dwarf named Peter introduces himself to Daniel, who is too busy to speak to him at that moment and suggests they talk later. None of Daniel's relatives can identify the man.

The service begins and the hallucinating Simon, certain he hears scratching noises in the coffin, tips it over, allowing the body to spill out onto the floor. During the ensuing chaos, Martha drags Simon outside, where her father forbids her to marry him. When Simon is told why he is reacting as he is, he panics and locks himself in the upstairs bathroom. Martha tries to persuade him to open the door while fending off the unwelcome advances of Justin, with whom she once had a one-night stand that she deeply regrets and would like to forget. When the drug overcomes Simon, he steps out of the window naked and sees Justin kissing Martha. Thinking what he sees reflects mutual feelings, he proceeds to climb onto the roof, where he threatens to jump. Hoping to calm him, Martha reveals she is pregnant with their child.

While most of the guests are caught up in Simon's seeming insanity, Peter meets privately with Daniel and Robert and reveals he was their father's lover. Unhappy that he was left nothing in their father's will, Peter reveals photographs that prove his relationship, and attempts to blackmail the family for £15,000. The brothers panic and bind and gag Peter, and to calm him down they give him the hallucinogenic drug they also believe is Valium. Peter manages to free himself, but in his drug-induced state he jumps repeatedly on the sofa before falling and hitting his head on a glass coffee table. Troy and family friend Howard cannot feel a pulse, so they believe Peter to be dead. Forced to dispose of the body as quickly and surreptitiously as possible, Daniel and Robert decide to place it in the casket with their father.

The service resumes, and Daniel's awkward eulogy is interrupted when the still very-much-alive Peter leaps from the coffin and the compromising photos fall out of his pocket for everyone, including the widow, to see. Daniel demands everyone stay calm and declares his father was a good man, although clearly one with secrets, and he delivers a loving tribute to the man.

That same night after the all the mourners (including Peter) have left, Robert tells Daniel that he plans on taking their mother to New York so that Daniel and Jane can finally get an apartment and live alone like they'd always wanted. Their conversation is interrupted when Jane shows up and tells them that Uncle Alfie will be staying over that night because of his panic attack after having seen Daniel and Robert move the body. She also tells them that she gave him some "Valium" (unbeknownst to her it is actually Troy's hallucinogenic), which shocks Daniel and Robert. The scene cuts to a shot of Uncle Alfie on the roof, naked like Simon had been, complaining about how "everything is so fucking green".

High School Musical 3

High School Musical 3

Starring : Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu,Monique Coleman, Bart Johnson

About Plot
Team captain Troy rallies the team's spirit. They win their last game at East High, thanks to the winning shot from their newest team member Jimmie "The Rocket" Zara. Later, at Troy's after-match party at his house, Troy and Gabriella are seen thinking about their future and wishing that their last few months at East High would not end.

Sharpay meets Tiara Gold, a British exchange student whom she hires to be her personal assistant. When drama teacher Ms. Darbus notices that there were so few sign-ups for the spring musical, Sharpay suggests she could do a one-woman show. This alarms Kelsi, who is writing the show, so she immediately signs up everyone in their homeroom for it instead. This results in Ms. Darbus announcing they will create a play about their final days at East High, called Senior Year. In addition, she reveals that Sharpay, Ryan, Kelsi, and Troy have all been considered for a scholarship at Juilliard School, but only one of them is to be chosen. Troy is confused, because he did not apply to Juilliard. Sharpay becomes desperate to win the scholarship, and knowing that Kelsi will give the best songs to Troy and Gabriella in the musical, she gets Ryan to try to persuade Kelsi to give them a song, by predicting her (and Ryan's) future.

The next day, Gabriella and Troy meet on the rooftop and she teaches him how to waltz. Chad then asks Taylor to go to prom with him with a cheesy pick-up line. She initially refuses due to his lack of enthusiasm, but later agrees when Chad proves he can put in some effort and asks again in front of everyone in the school. The group rehearses for the musical, a scene about their prom night. The next day Ryan walks in on Kelsi composing in the music room and performs it with her, and then he asks her to prom halfway through. While Troy and Chad reminisce about their past when their childhood, Sharpay and Tiara discover that Gabriella has a chance to go to college early to Stanford. Sharpay later convinces Troy that he is the only thing keeping Gabriella from her dream. Troy talks to Gabriella about this over pizza, and after sharing an awkward goodnight, Gabriella sings and leaves for college the next day.

Troy's dad, Jack, talks to him about his academic future, which he expects will be in the University of Albuquerque. This assumption makes Troy become angry and confused, and he runs away, storming around East High bewildered until he finally screams at the top of his lungs in the theatre. Ms. Darbus has been there all this time watching and reveals that she sent in his application for Juilliard, as she knew how comfortable he was on stage and how much he liked it. Troy takes no offense and thinks about the advice given to him. Troy later gets a call from Gabriella saying that although she loves him, she will not return to Albuquerque, as she is too used to being away from him and all her friends. However, on the day of the prom, Troy visits Gabriella at Stanford University and convinces her to return, as everyone is not the same without her and share a kiss together during the song. Back at East High, Jimmie receives a text from Troy to tell him to cover for him onstage because he is going to be late. The Juilliard representatives are there, and watch as the show seems to go well.

During the opening number, Kelsi and Ryan debut. While during the second number, Chad, Jason, Zeke and Martha debut, Ryan does his number with the many chorus girls; Jimmie then performs with Sharpay and embarrasses her, although the audience applauds him. Troy and Gabriella appear during the second half of the show and sing their duet together. Tiara then betrays Sharpay and tells her how she is going to take over next year in the drama department. Sharpay finally learns how it feels to be humiliated, but does not wish to go down. While Tiara performs, Sharpay immediately crashes her performance and upstages her.

Ms. Darbus reveals that both Kelsi and Ryan have won the Juilliard scholarship. Taylor will go to Yale University; Sharpay will go to University of Albuquerque and along with that, she will also assist Ms. Darbus in running the drama department in the fall (so that Tiara does not get to take over the Drama Department). Troy decides to go to the University of California, Berkeley, where he can play basketball, study drama, and be close to Gabriella. After learning about Troy's decision, Chad runs offstage and into the school gym. There he and Troy work things out and learn that their college's basketball teams will play each other the upcoming fall. Chad decides to attend Albuquerque.

At the graduation ceremony, Troy gives the class speech. Throwing their caps in the air, the graduates form a giant wildcat before breaking out into song and dance to the tune of "High School Musical". The six stars walk down the field where a curtain closes off the graduation ceremony and turns into a stage. The six stars do their signature jump, and then the camera does a close-up of each actor. They take their final bow as the curtain closes.

The third film from the series high school musical , enjoy it (:

High School Musical 2

High School Musical 2

Starring : Zac Efron , Vanessa Hudgens , Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman, Bart Johnson

About Plot
The school year ends with everyone at East High School looking forward to summer vacation . Troy Bolton (Zac Efron) is still dating Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Hudgens), who decides to stay in Albuquerque with her mother. Troy eventually decides to look for a summer job to gain money for college.

Sharpay and Ryan Evans (Ashley Tisdale and Lucas Grabeel) plan to spend part of the summer at their family's country club, Lava Springs , But Sharpay's summer plans also include pursuing Troy, whom she has arranged to be hired at the club. However, Troy convinces the club's manager, Mr. Fulton (Mark L. Taylor), into hiring Gabriella and their close group of friends as well; this includes Gabriella's best friend, Taylor (Monique Coleman), and Troy's best friend, Chad (Corbin Bleu). Sharpay is enraged upon learning that Gabriella is working as one of the lifeguards. Mr. Fulton is unable to fire them upon Sharpay's command, since the club's board members including her mother (Jessica Tuck) approved of their hiring, so she orders Fulton to give them difficult tasks so they would be best to quit. Fulton attempts to intimidate the group by warning them of tight restrictions on the job, but Troy rebuilds their confidence and convinces them that they can persevere.

Troy continues to worry about funding for college. Sharpay senses his need and arranges for Troy to be promoted, hoping that this will convince him to sing with her at the talent show. Meanwhile, Kelsi writes a ballad for Troy and Gabriella. Troy agrees to sing with his friends in the show , not knowing that Sharpay is vying for his attention. In the extended version, Sharpay and Ryan trap Troy as he prepares for a date with Gabriella, and perform their potential show stopper .

Ryan realizes he does not mean much to Sharpay anymore, as she is ready to blow her brother aside for the opportunity to perform with Troy. This leads tension between the twin siblings and Ryan angrily informs Sharpay that he will no longer obey her orders. Taylor and Gabriella invite Ryan to the baseball game.

Troy and Gabriella's relationship is strained when Troy sees Ryan with Gabriella, sparking jealousy. Owing to a "promise" from Troy, he and Sharpay practice their song for the Midsummer Night's Talent Show.

When Sharpay discovers that Ryan and the Wildcats are putting together their own performance in the show, she orders Mr. Fulton to ban all junior staff members from performing. Gabriella angrily confronts Sharpay, and makes it clear that she will not play Sharpay's "game". She quits her job at Lava Springs. Troy overhears the exchange, and tries to persuade Gabriella to change her mind. Gabriella expresses her loss of trust with Troy and leaves Lava Springs.

Troy returns to work the next day to find that his friends refuse to talk to him. Kelsi silently shows Troy the notice from Mr. Fulton, causing Troy to question his own motivations . He begins to reconcile with Chad and his other friends. Then Troy confronts Sharpay, informing her that he will not sing with her, and Sharpay screams and bursts into tears. The Wildcats and Chad forgive Troy for his absence and convince him to sing in the talent show, which he does only under the condition that they are all allowed to perform as well.

At Sharpay's supposed instruction, Ryan gives Troy a new song to learn moments before the show. As Troy goes onstage, he asks Sharpay why she switched the song, and Sharpay is shocked to find that her brother tricked her. Troy sings the song alone, until Gabriella surprisingly joins him onstage. In the end, Sharpay proudly presents her brother, Ryan, with the award for the talent show. After the talent show, the Wildcats (including Ryan and Sharpay) go to the golf course to enjoy the fireworks.

Enjoy It Guys (:

High School Musical

  • Starring : Zac Efron (Troy Bolton) , Vanessa Hudgens (Gabriella Montez) , Ashley Tisdale (Sharpay Evans) , Lucas Grabeel (Ryan Evans) , Corbin Bleu (Chad Danford) , Monique Coleman (Taylor Mckessie) , Bart Johnson(Coach Jack Bolton)

  • About Plot
Troy Bolton (Zac Efron) and Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Hudgens) meet at a New Year's Eve party while both are at a ski lodge during winter break. Troy is the captain of East High School's basketball team, and Gabriella is portrayed as shy and academic. At the party, the two are called upon to sing karaoke together. They seem to be attracted to each other, and exchange numbers before parting.
After break, Troy sees Gabriella in his homeroom, and she explains that she just moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico and transferred to East High over break. Troy shows Gabriella around the school, and they pause in front of the sign-up sheet for the winter musical auditions. This alarms Drama Club president Sharpay Evans (Ashley Tisdale), who assumes that Gabriella is interested in auditioning. Wanting to eliminate competition, Sharpay searches for more information about the new girl on the internet and arranges for the scholastic decathlon captain, Taylor McKessie (Monique Coleman), to find out about Gabriella's past academic achievements.

During basketball practice, Troy has trouble focusing because his thoughts are on Gabriella and the idea that he might enjoy singing more . Gabriella and Troy both go to the musical auditions, but both are too shy to step forward as Ms. Darbus (Alyson Reed), the drama teacher, asks if there are any others interested in auditioning after Sharpy and her brother Ryan (Lucas Grabeel) perform. When Gabriella finally summons the courage to step forward, Troy offers to sing with her, but Ms. Darbus tells them that they are too late. After she leaves, Kelsi Nielsen (Olesya Rulin), the composer of the musical, trips and drops her things. Troy and Gabriella rush to help her, and they sing together as Kelsi plays piano . Ms. Darbus overhears them and gives them a callback audition. Sharpay and Ryan dance Bop To The Top.

When the callback list is posted, Sharpay is furious to learn that she has competition for the lead in the musical, and the rest of the student population is shocked that a basketball star and shy, nerdy girl have auditioned for a musical. Other students confess their own secret passions and talents , alarming both Taylor and Troy's friend and fellow basketball team member, Chad Danforth (Corbin Bleu). Since Gabriella has agreed to join the scholastic decathlon team, both Taylor and Chad want their teammates to focus on their upcoming competitions rather than the musical. To help Troy and Gabriella return to normal, Chad and the basketball team trick Troy into saying that Gabriella is not important while she watches through a wi-fi link that the scholastic decathlon team has set up. Gabriella is hurt , and decides not to audition for the musical. Troy tries to talk to Gabriella, she refuses to speak to him. Chad and Taylor feel guilty for ruining Troy and Gabriella's relationship, and decide to tell them the truth. After Chad and the basketball tell Troy what they did and offer to support him in callbacks, Troy goes to Gabriella's house. Although Gabriella initially avoids him, they reconcile and start practicing for callbacks with Kelsi.
The cast of High School Musical sings We're All in this Together.

Intimidated after overhearing Gabriella and Troy practicing, Sharpay convinces Ms. Darbus to change the callback time to coincide with both the basketball championship and the scholastic decathlon, so that Gabriella and Troy cannot participate. Kelsi overhears Sharpay's conversation with Ms. Darbus, and the basketball team and the decathlon team work together to come up with a plan. On the day of the competitions, Taylor and Gabriella send a computer command to shut down the electricity in the gym, and send a second command that causes a dangerous chemical reaction that stalls the decathlon. With both competitions delayed, Troy and Gabriella rush to the auditorium, and Sharpay and Ryan finish performing their song, confident that their plan worked. Troy and Gabriella then audition as other students start streaming into the auditorium from the basketball game. Ms. Darbus gives Troy and Gabriella the lead roles, making Sharpay and Ryan understudies. Troy and Gabriella both win their respective competitions, and the film ends when the entire school gathers in the gym to celebrate.

I guess its Girly Movie but its Good to watch it , dont Miss it :)

About Plot
  • Phil and Claire Foster (Steve Carell and Tina Fey) are a married couple from New Jersey with two children whose domestic life has become routine. Phil is a tax advisor while Claire is a realtor. They have a weekly "date night" at a local steakhouse followed by a movie, but it is just as routine as everything else in their marriage. They learn that their best friends, Brad (Mark Ruffalo) and Haley (Kristen Wiig), are getting a divorce.

In an effort to reignite romance, Phil takes Claire to a trendy Manhattan restaurant, but they can't get a table. Phil decides to take a reservation from a no-show couple, the Tripplehorns, despite Claire's misgivings. Halfway through their meal, they are approached by two men named Collins (Common) and Armstrong (Jimmi Simpson), who question them about a flash drive they believe Phil and Claire stole from mobster boss Joe Miletto (Ray Liotta). Phil and Claire try to explain that they are not the Tripplehorns, but the two men threaten them at gunpoint. Not seeing any other way out, Phil decides to tell them it's in a boathouse in Central Park.

At the boathouse, Claire pretends to search; while Collins' and Armstrong's backs are turned, Phil hits them with a paddle and escapes with Claire on a boat. At a police station, Phil and Claire talk with Detective Arroyo (Taraji P. Henson) but discover Collins and Armstrong are also detectives, presumably on Miletto's payroll. Realizing they can't trust the police, they decide to find the real "Tripplehorns". They go back to the restaurant and find their phone number.

Claire remembers one of her former clients, Holbrooke Grant (Mark Wahlberg), is a security expert. At his apartment, Grant, whom Claire flirts with, traces the signal to an apartment owned by Tom Felton. Collins and Armstrong arrive but Phil and Claire escape in one of Grant's cars, an Audi R8. In the car, they argue.

They arrive at Felton's apartment and break in. They question Felton, nicknamed "Taste" (James Franco), and his girlfriend "Whippit" (Mila Kunis) about the flash drive and Joe Miletto. It turns out that they had gone to the restaurant but left when they spotted Collins. Realizing they are now in danger, the couple gives the flash drive to Phil and escape. When Phil and Claire get back in the car, Armstrong and Collins start shooting at them. Phil and Claire crash into a cab. Phil and the cab driver (J. B. Smoove) decide to drive off to get away. Phil climbs into the cab so he can navigate while Claire navigates the other car. Phil checks the flash drive on the driver's Amazon Kindle and finds pictures of district attorney Frank Crenshaw (William Fichtner) with prostitutes. After evading Collins and Armstrong and multiple squad cars, they are eventually hit and separated by another car. The cab falls into the river; Phil and the driver escape, but without the flash drive.

In a subway, Claire determines that Felton obtained the flash drive to blackmail Crenshaw. They go back to Grant's apartment, and Grant is reluctant to help this time after becoming exhausted from their incompetence, but Phil begs him and he agrees. Phil and Claire go to the strip club that Crenshaw frequents, with Claire under the guise of a new prostitute and Phil her pimp. Claire changes outfits and the two go into the room where Crenshaw is. After doing a pole dance for him, they confront him and tell him they are the Tripplehorns. Collins and Armstrong come in and hold them at gunpoint and take them up to the roof with Crenshaw. Miletto arrives with henchmen and it is revealed that Crenshaw has been paid by Miletto to keep him out of jail. When Phil mentions the photos, a feud escalates between the mobsters and Crenshaw, Collins, and Armstrong. Phil then asks Claire to count to three and when she does, a helicopter appears and Arroyo and the police come onto the roof to arrest Miletto, Crenshaw, and everyone else. It is revealed that Phil was wearing a wire courtesy of Grant, who informed Arroyo of the situation.

Phil and Claire enjoy breakfast at a local city diner afterward, where Phil admits that he would marry Claire and have their kids all over again if given the chance. When they arrive back home, they begin making out passionately on the front lawn for an extended period of time.

An after credits scene shows alternate lines and bloopers for various takes.

Shrek Forever After (2010)

If Shrek Forever After truly is the final installment of the Shrek franchise, (and who believes movie studios when there's still a buck to be made?) it's a great way to go out. Hilarious and heartfelt from start to finish, this is the best Shrek of them all, and that's no fairy tale. Borrowing liberally from Frank Capra's It's A Wonderful Life, this edition blends big laughs and emotion to explore what Far Far Away might have been like if Shrek never existed. We might wonder the very same thing about Dreamworks Animation without this multi-billion dollar franchise that has spawned four movies, TV specials, a Broadway musical and more merchandise than you can shake a Donkey's ass at. Expect a bountiful, record-breaking haul at the turnstiles again. The simple truth is you can't beat these beloved Ogres in brilliant 3D (for the first time) for pure entertainment this summer.

With a family consisting of three screaming Ogres, his loving wife Fiona (Cameron Diaz) and a seemingly contented lifestyle, Shrek (Mike Myers) finds himself in a mid-life crisis pining for the days when he wasn't awash in such "domestic bliss." After a nervous breakdown at a birthday party he finds himself making a pact with the devil, or in this case the oily and vengeful Rumpelstiltskin (Walt Dohrn), who blames Shrek and his ilk for his miserable life. So, in a diabolical plan to make himself ruler of the land he offers Shrek a day to re-live, which the naïve Ogre accepts. Stilskin chooses the day Shrek was born thrusting him back into a hometown that has no idea he ever existed. There he meets up with old friends who claim they never knew him including Donkey (Eddie Murphy), now basically a chauffeur for the witches who serve Stiltskin's every need; and Puss ‘N Boots (Antonio Banderas), the once proud cat who has clearly let himself go. Shrek soon discovers that at the end of the day he will cease to exist entirely unless he can score a magical kiss with Princess Fiona, who is now a freedom fighter for the Ogres and leading the resistance to Stiltskin. Unfortunately she wants nothing to do with him and complications ensue as Shrek races against time to save his kind and himself.

The basic Capraesque plotline has been done to death but it seems surprisingly fresh here, in the capable hands of director Mike Mitchell and writers Josh Klausner and Darren Lemke. The filmmakers milk the premise for all its worth and keep the laughs coming at such a pace it can be said Shrek is without question the funniest film of the year-at least so far. The beauty of this franchise is the wide swath of characters it is able to incorporate and the fractured twists it cleverly pulls on the old fairy tale formulas. Myers and Diaz continue to bring warmth and humanity to their vocal work as Shrek and Fiona, while Murphy and Banderas (reportedly getting his own Puss in Boots spinoff next year) are roll-in-the-aisles funny in all their scenes. Dreamworks head of story, Dohrn, is the rare non-star to get a major speaking role in the franchise, but he brings such a frantic, convincing mania to Rumpelstiltskin that it's hard to imagine anyone topping this performance. Actors, even in minor roles like the 3 Little Pigs and Gingerbread Man, are also superb, bringing a unique vocal personality to every last resident of Far Far Away and getting hearty laughs out of simple lines like "we ate the cake." The use of 3D is effective and enhances the sharp visual look of the whole enterprise.

If Shrek Forever After is to really be the ending for this terrific franchise, it's definitely a happy one.
